Site Visit to Sim Seng Hin Sawmill Co Pte Ltd ---- 10 November 2010

We have no idea where the company is situated. We met our teacher, Ms Phang, at Redhill MRT station at 2pm and took the train all the way to Yew Tee MRT station. The team continued to work on the interview questions and decided to rank the questions so as the most important ones are answered first.

team is really working hard (:
We nearly forgot to alight at Jurong East MRT station as we were too engrossed in ranking the interview questions. Fortunately,  Ms Phang reminded us. At Yew Tee MRT station, we went to the Foodcourt to continue the discussion. Ms Phang treated us ice-Milo and finally, we managed to complete the task.

    wow, so hardworking!
Next, we have to take a cab to the site because it's very far away from the station and it's beyond walking.

Viranjeet and Meili took the 1st cab and reached the site first. They were not aware that there were dogs awaiting at the gate of the site. Both of them were very frightened as the dogs were barking fiercely and seemed to be moving towards them. Fortunately, the dogs were being leashed. 5 minutes later, the rest of the team reached and they were also frightened by the dogs. We were warmly welcome by the staff and waited at the office (which is air-conditioned).

When all the school teams and Mr Ken Koh from YEA reported, we started the tour for our site visit.

The woods ready to be delivered to the customers.

Workers moving with the woods.
The woods are packed in such manner.
The stack of woods
At the warehouse, we saw many heavy machines and the workers at work. The working environment was rather dusty and noisy. We tried our best to stay focus and be attentive at all times. We were happy that most of our questions raised were answered. Our photographers, Jing Yuan and Janice, took many photos.

The guide explained every part in details.
The workers helped too.

Our hardworking members.
This part of the wood forms the door frame.
At the end of the session, we thanked everyone and headed home :)
